The Let’s talk Dementia campaign has been developed and funded by Luye Pharma Ltd

We want to help local communities learn more about the disease, and to be better equipped to support and assist carers and people living with dementia.

We want to reach as many people as we can with our toolkit that any community or social group can share and utilise in a group discussion.

Ultimately to help those living with dementia and to support their carers.

How?

Start the conversation

Why? People are not talking enough about dementia and it’s becoming a much bigger problem

Create awareness

Why? To ensure early diagnosis, to support getting help quickly, and aid being prepared

Provide helpful tools

Why? For carers and communities to support decision making, enhance caregiving skills, and improve the quality of life for those living with dementia

Why do we need to talk
about dementia?

Because by starting the conversation, we can raise awareness about the disease and promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle1 which may help some people take meaningful action.

We may help some people see the signs of dementia more quickly, or access help more easily.

We might help all those affected by dementia and those affected by the condition to remain more closely connected to their communities, family, and friends.

Physical Health

Get active

You don’t need to run a marathon, but you may be able to walk more often. Use the stairs not the lift. Stand rather than sit. Get outdoors with a loved one.

Healthy diet

A few simple things can help. Eat more fruit – eat less sugary, salty and fatty foods. Eat more salad – eat fewer chips.

Socialise

Meet up with friends. Join a club, charity or society. Chat to your neighbours and join community groups.

Pet companions

Having a pet helps us with our mood and provides welcome companionship.3 It often opens conversations with other people too.

Appointment guide

Open communication with your healthcare team is essential when addressing concerns or questions about memory problems or dementia symptoms.

That’s why we’ve developed a guide specifically for your initial visit to a GP or healthcare professional (HCP). This guide is designed to support you during your conversation, ensuring you have the information you need to navigate your appointment effectively.
